I love creating my own art, and also collaborating through my 'other' business Open Eye Art
Watercolor, sumi ink, acrylic paints, collage, kintsugi and wood carvings
Large works can transform a room
I have a passion for art which started early in life, posing for my mother as she painted me. Later I added my own flair to our white picket fence with gold paint stolen from her studio. Maybe that is why in addition to painting and wood carving, I find gold leafing and kintsugi, the Japanese art of gold repair, meditative and beautiful. The process of creating, getting lost in my work brings me great joy.
My roots in Oregon and experience living in American Samoa, Hong Kong, Tokyo and other stops along the way have influenced my love of nature, people and a simple design aesthetic. A curious learner, I love new experiences, not limited to art, and enjoy sharing what I have learned. I am a former global business exec, adjunct faculty at Pacific Northwest College of Art's Collaborative Design program, former Trustee of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, avid cook, traveler, mushroom hunter.
I also love to encourage others and find energy in creative collaborations and interactive designs. I am a Co-Founder of Open Eye Art, LLC, a company that is dedicated to inspiring people through custom designed creative art installations and team building encounters for companies of all sizes.
